Why will my generator not start after sitting?

Fuel left in the carburetor turns to varnish in storage and blocks the jets. Cleaning the carburetor and running fresh fuel fixes most generators that have sat for a season.

How should I store a generator between uses?

Either run it dry or fill it with stabilized fuel, change the oil, and start it every month or two so it is ready when you need it.

My generator runs but gives no power. Can that be fixed?

Usually, yes. It is often the voltage regulator, brushes or a tripped breaker. We test the output and find the fault before recommending a repair.
